Youth Show Winners

Trinity Arts Guild announced the winners of the 2009 Youth Art Show at a reception on Saturday November 7, 2009. The Graduating Senior who won the $500 scholarship was Emily Smith . Emily is currently enrolled in the Rhode Island School of Design.  She won for a picture she did last spring as a graduating senior.

The TAG Youth Show was a successful celebration of artistic talent from kindergarten to graduating seniors.  Certificates of Participation and awards were presented to the young artists.  They were all applauded by parents and grandparents.

First place awards went Zach King for “Blue Man Zach”, Claire Cox for “The Garden”, Alexandra Brooks for “Flowers”, and Emily Bernardo for “Flowers for Nana.”

Second place ribbons went to Kimberly Phillips for “Flower for Grandma”, Donald Snyder for “Tiger at Night”, Brooke Leblanc for “Cross”, and Paige Mills for “Checkers.”

Third place ribbons went to Ashton Redmon for “Grandma”, Kadie Madden for Pansy, Michaela Down for “Desert Bloom” and Shannon McCrary for “Shifting Colors.”  Congratulations for all who participated. It was a terrific show.

Special thanks to our judge, Sina Coulson, and the award donors for this show: Jack Richeson, Createx, Amy Erlich, Texas Commission on the Arts and Trinity Arts Guild.  Many thanks to member volunteers who donated their time and talent; especially, Bonnie Dunn, who organized the event, and  Faye Redmon, Carol Callery, and Mike Callery for computer expertise and much needed assistance with certificates and brochures.  Thanks, also, to Barbara Hentzen for refreshments, and of course Bennie Wood for her guidance and advice.

Artwork will remain on display in the gallery until November 17, 2009.
